Michael K. Correll is an attorney with the Law Offices of James D. Stout. Michael’s practice includes matters of both civil and criminal law.

EDUCATION
| |
Michael graduated from Purdue University where he earned a B.A. with highest distinction in 2002 and was awarded the school’s Distinguished Scholar Athlete Award. He received his J.D., summa cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis in 2005. There, Michael served as an Articles Editor for the Indiana Law Review and received the Francis J. Freeney Award for excellence in tax law. He was selected to the Order of Barristers and represented the school at the ABA National Moot Court Competition in 2004.

Michael is licensed to practice law in both Illinois and Indiana. He is also admitted in both the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. Michael is a court-approved guardian ad litem.

Michael is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Crawford County Bar Association, and the Indiana State Bar Association.

PRACTICE AREAS

Michael's practice includes work in both civil and criminal matters. On the civil side, Michael has a general practice that includes family law, probate and estate planning, corporation law, real estate, creditors' rights, and guardianships. Michael represents clients in criminal matters and serves as the Crawford County Conflicts Public Defender.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Michael serves on the Illinois Eastern Community Colleges Board to which he was elected in 2009. He is also an active member of the Robinson Kiwanis Club, Robinson High School Alumni Association and Academic Foundation, Robinson High School Booster Club, Lincoln Trail College Booster Club, and Highland Church of Christ. Michael coaches local youth teams, including the 2007 State Champion 15 year old Crawford County Babe Ruth baseball team.
